Different kinds of vertical honing machines: conventional honing and single-stroke.
Conventional honing machines
The tool-holding spindle moves up and down on the vertical axis several times during the processing of the bore, removing a few microns of material each pass. The abrasive tool expands until it reaches the desired size with micrometric precision and tolerances.
Single-stroke machines
With the “Single-stroke” technology a single pass of one or more tools through the hole allows to reach the desired size and parameters.
Combined honing machines
Multi-spindle and rotary table models adopting both technologies, using expansion and single-stroke tools as needed.
